Cinematography
The film trailer ‘American Gangster’ fall under the genre
crime and drama. The trailer begins with an establishing shot of the city and
then a medium shot of the main character. The medium close up shot of the main
character allows the audience to see his appearance in the movie and his facial
expression; he gives out a serious look.
The main character is walking and the camera is moving across as he is
walking and this also connoted that the movie is based on him or surrounded by
him. When the main character is in the bank counting the money the camera is at
a low angle and it shows the characters power at that moment. The camera
switches from the police man to the main character and this shows the contrast
between them.
