Ted Trailer

Colour
·         It starts of dark but when John Bennett meets Lauren then the movie becomes bright.
·         They use natural colours to make it more realistic.
·         They also use cartoony colours for teds features and clothing ted is in the scene.
·         They use dark colours when ted is fighting the man.

Framing
·         They make the camera look like it is looking down at ted and they are emphasizing his height.
·         For the viewer it is a point of a view from the shoulder.
Composition and lighting
·         The first shot is an establishing shot then it becomes a bird’s eye view of ted and john. This connotes the focus of the movie and where they are located in North America.
·         It is mostly filmed during the day and only becomes dark at the beginning when he gets ted, then gets bright as soon as ted begins to speak. And when they begin to fight it gets a little darker at that point also when john asks ted to move out.
·         This connotes that bad things are to come and something negative is happening at that moment.
·         Also it starts to rain before john and ted fight.

advert analysis

http://www.footy-boots.com/files/2009/11/adidas-messi.jpg
The image is of a footballer dribbling with a ball he is looking down and concentrating on the task ahead. He is in a running pose which gives you some of the intensity of the image. And you can feel that by the colours that are use because it is mainly dark and a bright tense blue. This will keep the audience on the edge because they would want to know what is going to happen next. And it shows a shadow trying to tackle him.

They use messi and zidane in this advert very well because they are very famous footballers. And zidane is in the background watching on where as messi is in the foreground dribbling and it gives a contrast from past to present. The advertising of the boot and using messi would make many people who play football want those boots because they want to be similar to messi. And using messi in the advert was very wise because he is one of the most famous footballers of today. Whereas zidane was the one of the most famous of his day. It also shows messi dribbling towards a light and running away from darkness.

The blue gives a more childish and playful feel to it and also danger because it reminds me of electricity. Adidas also use the word ‘spark’ to remind you that its electricity and danger. The writing is the same colour as the boots and it connotes that messi is as fast as electricity. And it is saying to the audience if you have these boots you too can be as fast as electricity.  The text ‘every team needs THE SPARK’ is saying that messi is the spark for his team because he has those boots.

The boots are in the lower half of the image but they are still eye catching because of the colour. And the company’s logo is in the bottom right hand corner of the picture and the viewer knows straight away that adidas made the advert.

Reebok advert

Colour
It is black and white to show that his past was bad and it is behind him. It connotes that he and the advert are very serious. Although adverts are meant to be colourful and attractive this has a different and deeper meaning.
Framing
The advert is split in two. One half has 50 cent's face where as the other half has writing. And the words 'i am what i am' are in bold and this connotes that 50 cent's past has made him who he is today. It also shows a little arrogance and he doesn’t care how people see him.
Composition
One half has finger prints on it and this happens when you go jail. And this connotes that 50 cents life wasn’t easy and he has been jail. And this is why he says ‘i am what i am’.
Size
The text part 'i am what i am' is big because it is something 50 cent said that is promoting the brand. His face takes half the page so people can recognise him and the brand.
Type of shot
It is a close up to 50 cents face because Reebok want people to notice him and see his facial expression. Also the finger prints are seen from above and this makes the viewer analyse it more and also take a mental picture of it. It will also make them read the words above it.

Subject matter
The main subject would be 50 cents finger prints because it takes half a page and it is something that would shock you as a viewer. It shows his past and how he has overcome it and changed who he is today. It would mainly relate to someone who has had a similar life and upbringing as 50 cent has.
Pose
Also 50 cents facial expression is serious and he looks angry which connotes that he is serious about what he is talking about, and it isn’t a laughing matter. The camera shot is a close up of his face and it doesn’t show the rest of his body. This connotes that Reebok want people to recognise him and put the brand and 50 cent together.
The amazing spider man

The film poster 'The amazing spider man' is targeted at promoting the release of the spider man movie.

Firstly the colour of the background is a dark blue whereas spider man’s costume is a bright and strong red this connotes that he is the super hero in the movie. The dark colours in the background represent the evil and trouble which surrounds spider man and he is the cities savour. The writing is a bright white because it is standing out and spider man is the hero. The city reflects in his mask and this shows the most important thing to him and he takes being a hero seriously. Spider man's suit has scratches on it and this connotes that he is selfless and he doesn't care about his appearance but the public’s safety is his priority. There is a light glowing behind him and this connotes that good is slowly prevailing evil.

The pose spider man is giving out a negative vibe and this shows that being a super hero is beginning to become a problem and it is upsetting him. Also it shows there are a lot of things hidden with him and not everything is what it seems by the way he is posed. The denotation of the image is a close of spider man's face and his upper torso, to show his importance as a super hero.

The camera shot connotes that spider man is the main guy of the city because the city is behind him. Also spider man has scratches on his chest which shows that he has been through a struggle and a fight. Spider man is looking down this connotes that he has been through many problems and they are on top of him. That's why he isn't giving eye contact because he doesn't want anyone else to know his pain or see it.
The light connotes that spider man's importance in the movie and he is the main character.

The amazing spider man has Hybrid genre it is a thriller, fantasy and action. This connotes that it can appeal to a wide audience. And gives out more content than a typical action movie.

The institution is a Hollywood movie and it has been nominated for many awards it is distributed but Colombia pictures. Therefore showing that it was made by an established company. Its opening weekend made €383,255 (Portugal). This connotes that the movie was successful and the targeted audience had watched the movie.

They promoted this movie by making a video game about and making a trailer. They also advertised it on TV and the age rating was a 12 this connotes that there is a lot of action in the movie and some violent scenes. And it might not be suitable for a younger audience.

Entry #1

I read the metro or the daily mail on occasions otherwise I rarely buy them; I usually check the news online rather than read papers. I turn to the back pages because I am into sports so that’s what interests me the most. I never read the middle or the where they talk about business and the stock market. Because it doesn’t really bother me nor interests me that’s why I choose not to read them. I usually read the headlines and I read a lot of gossip and rumours, because it keeps me up to date with the world. I either buy them or find them on the buses.
I watch 10 hours of television a week or less, on Saturdays and Sundays I watch football so it is mainly between 12-6pm. In only watch football and Apprentice once in a while, I watch this because I enjoy watching football and the apprentice is an interesting show. I watch the football with my friends or my brother and the apprentice I watch alone because I want to concentrate better.
I don’t usually go to the cinema, maybe on occasions but the last movie I watched was the amazing spider man, I watched it with my friends.
I use the internet every day and I access it on my phone, laptop or in school. I use twitter, Facebook and YouTube are the sites I use regularly. I use these sites to socialise with friends or watch clips and listen to music. Sometimes in play games online or making purchases.
